Not bad I guess, but its pretty sloppy and has no flow. I can link a few of my old ones in here for inspiration:

Not bad? It sucks. A picture with text on it isnt the same as a signature piece.

The colors dont match, the size doesnt work, how its broken up into pieces isnt clear enough and causes confusion.

But yeah, wouldnt even call it a signature Smile

You either need to keep practicing or invest in a sig from the graphics section Smile

Thanks guys. I'm using gimp editing software so if you have any tips on using it let me know. This has been the kind of feedback I wanted. Smile

The only tip I can give you is to start working with Photoshop CS2 and up + Cinema4D studios! There are a bunch of tutorials out there and PS is so much more advanced and better than GIMP.

Broeder Might I suggest posting something useful. This thread is asking for suggestions not hating on my signature.

I'd probably read some guides on design concepts such as what elements make graphics work well since GIMP has the potential to make good graphics. Just because one has photoshop doesn't mean they automatically make amazing graphics Razz, design principles still apply for many graphics.

Broeder did post something useful even though he said it in the most direct way possible, I have highlighted the areas he criticized that need improvement. Anyway in my opinion on your signature I also agree that the colours don't work well. I found the red font to kind of being blended into the background image making it harder to read, in addition I feel the background your text is being placed on is too busy. I suggest placing the text in a not so busy(like a one coloured area). A good example of text being on a not so busy background is zombeh's Signature

Spoiler:
As you can see the text is on a background of mainly 1 colour (grey/smoke) and the text is a suitable colour making it easy to read Smile.

I strongly recommend PS and C4D in comparison to GIMP.

Tbh there isn't much of a comparison.

True both have the right tools, but in terms of learning I would say PS is a much more comfortable environment. But that's just personal opinion

You might not like how I said it, and for that I am sorry Smile But i stand by what i said

But what i said was not to make you feel bad, just to give some perspective. I would be more than happy to help you get better, as I am always happy to, but you are atm in a stadium in which no help from others will really help. Just get used to the tools the program you use give, read up on some of the technical stuff like Rule of Thirds and Color Combination, make a lot of pieces and then finally try your hand on a tutorial to see if you can use techniques outlined in such signature tutorials.

Again, if i am on irc dont hesitate to ask for help or ask for feedback from me. But expect it to be too the point and honest.
Or, dont go for my kind of 'teaching' and ask others for advice Smile

By useful I mean offering suggestions on how I can go about improving those areas rather than post that its wrong and leave it at that.

I guess I am forever forgotten :<

To start, the color of your text isn't the best choice. It's bland, and the font choice doesn't match the background whatsoever. Not much was altered from the original image at all really. I heard somewhere, "don't use a stock image (in your case, what looks like a spacial render) unless you have significantly altered it." When I can tell every single step you used to make it, it's way too simple.

To help out, let me just link you to some good GIMP tutorials I've used a couple of years ago:
http://leonardonightingale.deviantart.com/art/Night-s-GIMP-Signature-Tutorial-353671746
http://cobragfx.deviantart.com/art/Final-Strike-Sig-Tutorial-81121614
http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs25/f/2008/078/8/a/Asian_Signature_Tutorial_by_CobraGFX.png

The only way to get better is practice, so keep going at it.

DoYouPlay_RS

To start off, you were not forgotten my whole thing was about not getting the kind of feedback of which I wanted. You already provided this specific feedback.

Secondly, not trying to sound mean or anything but I almost 100% guarantee you cannot find the source image based solely off my signature. Nor do I think you could name every step.

Finally. I do agree the name is not what I want and if you have any gimp videos specific to text editing feel free pm them to me.

*P.S. This message was not to be mean just blunt.
